The short answer
£125 a month. That is what Fiona costs. There is no setup fee, no minimum term and no up-front payment. It covers the phone number, the receptionist answering it, the bookings she takes and a record of every call.
If you want the longer answer, it is below — because a monthly figure on its own tells you nothing unless you know what changes it.
What £125 actually covers
- A phone number that is always answered — day, night, weekends and the hours you are on a job.
- Bookings taken — she takes the details and puts the appointment in, rather than taking a message you have to chase.
- Call records — who rang, what they wanted, what was booked.
- Changes and updates — new prices, new services, holiday dates.
- No setup fee — the same £125 in month one as in month twelve.
- No contract — month to month, cancel whenever you like.
Why two AI receptionists can quote the same monthly fee and cost very different amounts
When you compare providers, the monthly figure is the least informative number on the page. These are the four things that actually change what you pay:
- A setup fee. Often quoted separately from the monthly price, so the first invoice is bigger than expected.
- A minimum term. Twelve months at £125 is a very different commitment from one month at the same figure.
- A cap on calls or minutes. Cheaper plans often include a small allowance, and the overage is where the money is made.
- Whether a human is behind it. A service that routes to real staff costs what staff cost — that is a different product, not a cheaper one.
Ask any provider which of those four applies. If they cannot answer plainly, that is your answer.
What it is worth
This is the only calculation that matters, and you can do it in your head. Take what one booked job is worth to you. If that number is above £125, then recovering a single call a month pays for the whole thing. Everything after that is the gain.
If one job is worth less than the monthly fee, this is probably not the right product for you yet — and we would rather say so than sell you something that does not add up.
Does it replace my receptionist?
No. What it replaces is the phone going unanswered: lunch cover, the school run, after six, the hour you are up a ladder with both hands full. If you employ someone, they come back to a list of calls already booked instead of fourteen missed-call notifications.
Can I hear it before I decide?
Yes — that is the whole point of the number below. It is not a demo recording. Ring it and you get the same receptionist we would set up for your business. Ask her something awkward and see how she handles it.
